In July 2010, at age 42, Australian Pop Singer, (K)ylie (M)inogue will release her 11th(!) studio album, Aphrodite.
Personally, Kylie is sort of a guilty pleasure for theGlitoris—- someone that can only be played when we’re in a certain mood (as goes with all music) but some really awesome tracks on here like; “Cupid Boy” (featured above), “Closer”, “Illusion”, “Put Your Hands Up”, & “Too Much”really live up to the Kylie Pop Empire.
It’s not too surprising— considering major album producer Stuart Price (Princess Superstar, Madonna, Scissor Sisters, New Order, The Killers) produced about 10 of the tracks and leaving 1 for Calvin Harris to produce.
Other notable contributors include, Jake Shears and Babydaddy of Scissor Sisters. This album, Aphrodite, does NOT feature any ballads at all.

With the help of Ra Ra Riot’s Andrew Maury— Washington, D.C. band, DETOX RETOX, is releasing “Movement”, an EP with a collection of six perfect summer songs.
The group is composed of Michael Parker (Vocals), Nate Frey (Synth), Kevin Glass (Bass), & Kabir Khanna (Drums).
Their EP, “MOVEMENT” comes out Tuesday, June 15th.

Last night’s NEON INDIAN show in Austin, TX, CRYSTAL FIGHTERS’ new “In the Summer” single [see previous posting] LCD Soundsystem, Holy Ghost!, Juan McLean, & Miike Snow are in town tonight AND the fact that it IS June 8th, Solidifies that SUMMER IS HERE!
Bands are touring like crazy nuttz and peoplez is sweatin in the crowds.
Not to be left out on fun mindless summer songs, The Artist Formally Known As PRINCE, celebrated his 52nd!!! Birthday Yesterday by releasing a NEW TRACK entitled, “HOT SUMMER”.
It’s funny that The Artist sings about this new song being a “futuristical sound”….. he needs to hear BIG BOI’s new album. THAT SHIT is Futurisitcal. Download, “HOT SUMMER” here, and clap ya ass to it by the pool. Look for Prince’s new album, tentatively entitled, “Androgynine”.

#MM Feels like yesterday when London Based band CRYSTAL FIGHTERS headlined ONE of my SXSW parties with Radarmaker and BIGSTEREO Records at Barbarella. When I spoke with the guys in March, they were telling me about their debut album they’d JUST recorded before flying into Austin. I am extremely excited for them to finally have a full length record out, instead of their usual Kitsune Single here and there. After a few months of mastering, the boys (and sometimes girls) of CRYSTAL FIGHTERS have released their FIRST single from said album. Download the track “In the Summer”, here.
